Once upon a time lived Ruru and his wife Tangi-roa. One day Ruru went to catch some tuna. He went to the forest and looked for some tuna in the forest. There were some fairies, the name of fairies was Patu-Paia-Rehe. When Ruru was looking for some tuna there were lots of Patu-Paia-Rehe hiding behind him.
One of the Patu-Paia-Rehe caught him and locked him in a whare and they covered him with some mud and some moss and they talked in their language.
Ruru now looked like the green fairies. He had green all over him and he didn’t have any hair on his head.
Tangi-roa was looking for her husband, she did not know here he was. So she asked the Tohunga to use his magic to find Ruru. When they found him they rubbed water all over him to get rid of the moss. Tangi-roa was happy to see her Ruru again
